Managing Sources
As your source list grows, FeedKiwi gives you several tools to keep things organized.
Source List
The Sources page shows all your added sources with:
- Source name and type icon
- Tags assigned to the source
- Star status
- Mute status
Editing a Source
Click on any source to edit its details:
- Name: Change the display name
- Tags: Add or remove tags
- Star/Unstar: Toggle star status
- Mute/Unmute: Temporarily pause items from this source
Starring Sources
Starred sources get special treatment:
- Their items appear first in your feed (sorted above non-starred items)
- Optionally, new items from starred sources can be auto-added to your Queue (enable in Settings)
Muting Sources
Muting a source temporarily stops its items from appearing in your feed. The source remains in your list, and you can unmute it at any time. This is useful for:
- Taking a break from a prolific source
- Temporarily hiding sources during a busy period
- Pausing sources you’re not currently interested in
Tagging Sources
Tags are how you categorize content across FeedKiwi:
- Assign tags when adding or editing a source
- All items from that source inherit its tags
- Use tags to filter your feed, queue, and shelf
- Set daily time goals for specific tags
Tag Management
Manage your available tags in Settings. You can:
- Create new tags
- Choose which tags appear in the filter panel
- See how many sources use each tag
Deleting a Source
To remove a source:
- Click on the source in the Sources list
- Click Delete
- Confirm the deletion
Deleting a source removes it from your list but does not delete existing items already in your feed, queue, or shelf.
Updating Your Feed
Click Update Feed on the Feed page to check all your sources for new content. The update:
- Processes each source sequentially
- Shows progress as it works through your sources
- Reports how many new items were found
- Can be cancelled if needed
